50ml Jim Beam Rye whisky
20ml sweet red vermouth
Dash Angostura bitters
Maraschino cherry (as garnish)

Stir rye whisky, vermouth and Angostura bitters over ice. Strain into a cocktail glass, add maraschino cherry and serve straight (without ice).

Rye whisky is the traditional way to make a Manhattan but for a modern twist, use bourbon whisky. Brands like Jim Beam White Label or Maker’s Mark are ideal.
