Old Weller Antique 107 is a wheated bourbon whisky from Buffalo Trace. It is a smooth and very traditional style of wheat bourbon bottled at ABV 53.5%, or 107 proof. That is where the name comes from.

The Old Weller part of the name comes from a 19th century whisky distiller from Kentucky. William Larue Weller is credited with producing the first straight bourbon made using wheat instead of rye.

Old Weller Antique 107 is a well crafted bourbon whisky with sweet notes and an alcohol-bite. The flavours open up when a splash of water is added. The water also gives it a more creamy feel in the mouth.

Old Weller Antique 107 used to be sold with an age statement, usually 7 years. That is no longer the case and there is no age statement on this brand. It hardly matters, though, as this does not in any way feel like a young bourbon.

This will not be the best bourbon you have ever tasted, but it is very good. It is also great value for money, making it perfect as an every day sipper.
