Woodford Reserve Master's Collection is a series of unique and limited edition bourbon whiskies. Woodford Reserve traces its heritage back to the early 1800s. Even back in those early days new ways of distilling were being tested and new types of bourbons were being tried. The Master's Collection produced today keeps up that pioneering tradition.

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Rare Rye Selection is a unique experience and a must have for all whisky fans. It is two 375ml bottles of whisky, both distilled exactly the same, with a recipe that was 100% rye.

Each was aged in a different barrel. One went in to the type of barrel typically used to make rye and bourbon whisky in America - a brand new charred cask. The other also went in to a charred oak barrel, but this one was used.

The beauty of Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Rare Rye Selection is the different characteristics of each bottle. The one aged in the new barrel has a much deeper amber colour with flavours drawn from the wood of the cask. The whisky that matured in the used barrel, however, is lighter in colour with flavours dominated by the spirit itself.

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Rare Rye Selection was released in limited quantities in November 2011.
