Corsair is a craft distiller based in Nashville in Tennessee. It is one of only a handful of such distilleries whose products have made their way to UK. The craft distilling business in the US is growing in popularity as consumers seek high quality yet affordable whiskies.

Corsair Triple Smoke is a small batch American malt whisky. It is made from three types of malted barley. The types all differ in the way they are smoked. One is smoked by exposing it to burning cherry wood, another by burning peat (as in Scotch), and the other by burning beechwood.

This combination of smoked malt barley is then distilled in an antique pot still that was built around the time of prohibition in the US. Finally, Corsair Triple Smoke is aged in new charred oak barrels, the same type of barrels used to age bourbon whisky.

So this is a unique malt whisky made in a distinctive American style. It has both a sweet and smokey taste.
