Beam's Eight Star is a blended whisky made by Beam Inc - this one was produced in the 1980s. It was never part of the Jim Beam family of bourbons and whiskies, with the label saying it is produced by The Clear Spring Distilling Co.

While this bottle of Beam's Eight Star is rare and collectable because of its age, the reality is it is a cheap whisky. It is made by blending straight whisky with a bog-standard spirit at the ratio 25 percent to 75 percent. So, there is more vodka in it than whisky.

This is a big bottle (100cl), though, and would have a place in many American whiskey collections.
