Jeremiah Weed is a brand best known as a liqueur. Similar to drinks such as Southern Comfort, the liqueur is a blend of bourbon whisky and other sweetners. Jeremiah Weed Blended Bourbon, however, is more of a whisky.

It is not, strictly speaking, a bourbon or a whisky. In fact, it is not even all bourbon in the bottle. Jeremiah Weed Blended Bourbon is actually a blend of bourbon whisky and vodka. It can officially be called a "Blended Bourbon Whiskey" as it contains at least 25% bourbon.

The brand Jeremiah Weed is owned by Diageo. As well as the Blended Bourbon, it has also released a number of other Jeremiah Weed branded products, including beers and a Southern Style Sweet Tea Liqueur.

Diageo has done this because the brand seems to have some legs in the US. The original Jeremiah Weed (the liqueur mentioned above that has been around since the 1960s) is popular among American fighter pilots. Not many like the taste, but drinking Jeremiah Weed is something that is reportedly a ritual deeply embedded in the culture of US fighter pilots.

It remains to be seen if Diageo can sell Jeremiah Weed Blended Bourbon in significant quantities. It seems unlikely, but that does not mean it is not good. Many really good bourbon whiskies available today sell in relatively small amounts.

For us, Jeremiah Weed Blended Bourbon should be used as a mixer, for either cocktails or cola drinks.
