The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is a six day extravaganza held every September in Bardstown in Kentucky. Thousands of people flock to the event for the bourbon whisky, the food and the entertainment.

The official toasting bourbon whisky of the festival is Ridgemont Reserve 1792 Small Batch.

This is a hugely popular premium bourbon whisky in the US. It is less well known in the UK but it is gaining fans every day.

Ridgemont Reserve is a small batch bourbon whisky. Each barrel is aged for eight years before being married and bottled at 93.7 proof. The recipe has a higher than normal amount of rye, which gives this bourbon whisky some attitude. Full-bodied and ballsy is the best description.

Ridgemont Reserve 1792 is made at the Barton 1792 Distillery. It is part of the Sazerac stable of spirit brands.

The 1792 part of the name is to honour the year Kentucky, home of bourbon whisky, became a state in the US.
