Heaven Hill is a value bourbon whisky from the distillery of the same name. Heaven Hill -- the distillery -- is one of the biggest and most important whisky producers in America.

Current bottles of Heaven Hill retail between £15 and £20 and are aged for four years. This is a five-year-old version that was bottled in the 1980s. It is slightly stronger than today’s version, at ABV 43% instead of 40%.

The 1980s were a time of rapid change and expansion at Heaven Hill. During this decade the distillery filled its three millionth barrel and it is also embarked on a major push to acquire other spirit brands and set up import relationships.

This Heaven Hill is very smooth and drinkable, with the five years maturing process adding greatly to the character.
