Buffalo Trace launches competition for musicians

Buffalo Trace battle of the bandsThe Buffalo Trace Distillery has launched an online competition to find the next big band or artist. This type of thing is a popular marketing strategy of bourbon whisky brands – getting involved in the music industry. One of the biggest examples is the Jim Beam and Kid Rock promotions.

Buffalo Trace is doing it through their social media website, Buffalo Trace Saloon which we reviewed here. Bands and artists upload there songs to the “Jukebox” along with a photo and some information. Buffalo Trace Saloon members then vote for their favourites.

 

Each month there is a $500 prize. The grand prize of $5,000 will be announced on 1 July 2011.

Kris Comstock is the brand manager at Buffalo Trace. He said: "We love great whiskey and great music. Both take talent, patience and dedication to the craft. We respect those uncompromising musicians that are true to their music, just as we respect smooth whiskey."
