2001 Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon whisky released

2001 edition of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon whisky releasedHeaven Hill has released the 2001 Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon. It is the 16th annual release of the series which has won many awards down through the years.

Similar to the 15 previous releases, each bottle ttle of the 2001 edition of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon has printed on it the date it was put the barrel, the date it was bottled and the serial number of the single barrel from which it was drawn.

It is bottled at 86.6 proof (approximately 49% ABV) and is made from Heaven Hill’s traditional corn, malted barley and rye mashbill. The barrels come from the top three floors of the rickhouse.

As with the 15 previous editions, the 2001 release of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon whisky is made under the supervision of father and son master distillers, Parker and Craig Beam. They selected the 2001 vintage from the 900,000 barrels of aging bourbon whisky at the Heaven Hill Distillery.

Parker Beam said: “Even though the mashbill - the grain recipe - is the same from year to year, we try to achieve a particular flavor profile with each vintage. And judging from the critical acclaim it's received, it seems like we've been pretty successful with the vintage-dated concept behind Evan Williams Single Barrel."

The 2001 edition of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon will be on sale in the US from January 2011.
