First New York Distillery releases bourbon whisky

Kings County Distillery releases first bourbon whiskyThe first legal bourbon whisky distillery in New York has just released its first bourbon whisky. At the moment it can only be bought in the distillery and in the short term it will only be available in the US.

The bourbon is made by Kings County Distillery. It was only licensed on 14 April 2010, but it is the city’s oldest operating distillery.

The whisky has only been aged for five-and-a-half months. The distillery achieves this by using barrels that are much smaller than most manufacturers.

It is described as woodsy, smooth and well-balanced with a hint of spice.
