This Old Taylor 4 Year Old that was bottled in the 1960s is a collectors’ item. The brand is still available today (distilled and bottled by Buffalo Trace) but the original distillery is long gone.

This bottle was distilled at the original Old Taylor Distillery.

It was built in 1887 by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr. He was a banker by profession and, after financing much of the bourbon whisky industry in Kentucky at the time, he started buying and building distilleries himself. The Old Taylor Distillery was his namesake and its flagship product was Old Taylor bourbon whisky.

After Taylor died in 1922 the distillery was bought by National Distilleries who continued making bourbon at the distillery until 1972 when it was sold to Jim Beam. Old Taylor was never made at the Old Taylor distillery again.

This is a rare chance to acquire an historic brand in its original form. More...
