In 1998 Jack Daniel’s started a series of special bottles called The Scenes from Lynchburg. Lynchburg in Tennessee has been the location of the Jack Daniel’s Distillery ever since a young Jack Daniel started making whisky there.

Originally there was supposed to be seven in the series, released about once a year. Jack Daniel’s decided to continue it after No.7 due to its popularity, particularly among collectors.

No.9 features the mellowing vats, used to filter the whisky through sugar maple charcoal, drop-by-drop, before it goes into the aging barrels. Two men look on.

Jack Daniel’s Scenes from Lynchburg No.9 comes in a 100cl bottle at the higher than normal strength of ABV 43%. More...
